Introducing Espérance Malonga, U4Hope CEO

I am Espérance Malonga. Since my childhood in Congo, I have loved to create. I have been a seamstress for over 20 years and here is my story. When I was younger, I used to go to the sewing workshop to pick up the falling fabrics to make the dolls and doll clothes. My mother noticed my passion and suggested that I pursue fashion in school. One day, the seamstress who gave me the left over fabric saw a dress that I made for a lady in my neighborhood and congratulated me on my progress. She reminded me of my beginnings making the doll clothing and encouraged me to keep sewing. Her support motivated me to perfect my craft. I followed my heart to fashion design school for 3 years where I focused on draping, pattern making, molding and fashion design. My designs are a mix of African fabrics and western details to bring true creative diversity. I am the proud stylist of both my family and the community. Thank you for giving your precious time to read my story. I invite you to discover my creations and welcome you to give me your impression of my work.

Thank you!
